Founded in 2016 in New York City by Pamela Hunt, Orithyia takes its name from Greek mythology.
Orithyia was a queen of the Amazons, a tribe of women warriors who struck fear in the bravest of armies through their remarkable skills in warfare and alliance with the gods. Her achievements are legendary as a fierce and skillful warrior and leader, leaving a spirited legacy in ancient history.
From an early age, I’ve been guided by a fierce sense of individuality. I was drawn to the unusual, dreamed of exquisitely crafted pieces, and constantly re-imagined what could be. Along the way, I discovered the powerful language of clothing — how it can tell a story, transport you to another world, reflect who you are, and shape who you want to become.
Running competitively since childhood taught me how to navigate identity within the rhythm of a team and the discipline of a sport I loved. That journey ultimately led to the creation of Orithyia — where style, craftsmanship, and purpose meet.
